Ruele on the verge of Rio qualification

Botswana swimming sensation, Naomi Ruele is on the verge of qualifying for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Ruele missed out on qualification over the weekend by 0.08 seconds during the 50-metre freestyle competition at the Orlando Pro swim series in the United States of America.

The Botswana Swimming Sports Association (BSSA) vice chairperson, Ruth Van Der Merwe said the swimmer has three more swim meets where she could make the qualifying time for Rio. 

She said Ruele has the ability to make it to the Olympics. She said Ruele has qualified for the US colleges’ division one championship finals that would be held in March 16 in Atlanta.
