Lady Khama Trust struggles to secure sponsor

The Lady Khama Charitable Trust is struggling to secure the main sponsor for its Lady K Run 21 half marathon scheduled for March 6 in Gaborone. Chairperson of the trust, Dale Ter Haar told Mmegi Sport yesterday it has been difficult to secure a sponsor for the marathon.

He said companies that they had approached complain about the decline of the economy. Run 21 marathon has been divided into three categories; five, ten and 21 kilometres. Lack of sponsorship has not affected the plans.

Ter Haar said the main aim of the marathon is to raise funds for charity. The trust has other events, which were also held on an annual basis.
