FRANCISTOWN: A 35-year-old Facebooker who last year appeared to predict his bleak future in a post, was on Tuesday sentenced to death for strangling an Asian woman and attempting to kill her husband during a robbery.

High Court judge, Modiri Letsididi delivered the ultimate punishment on Uyapo Poloko, saying there were no extenuating circumstances that could reduce the 35-year-old’s blameworthiness.

Poloko was convicted of killing Vijeyadeyi Kandavaranam on January 25, 2010 at Ntshe location in Francistown, during which he also attempted to kill her husband, Balasingnam.
