Mature jazz sounds lure youngsters

It is now a common sight to see young jazz enthusiasts flocking to jazz joints such as Millennium Restaurant and the Pavilion. Events such as Jazz X Change are no longer for the oldies. Ironically, even those hippy musicians seem to be ditching their urban sounds to venture into the laid back jazz tunes.
In the last two months, Botswana has seen world-renowned jazz heavyweights Hugh Masekela, Don Laka, Jimmy Dludlu and Salif Keita gracing our shores to much fanfare.
Their concerns highlight the need for meaningful dialogue between government and relevant stakeholders to ensure the best interests of the country are served.This was in addition to other voices from opposition politicians and civil society organisations.The stance underscores the importance of citizen participation in the constitutional amendment process.
