Staff Writer
FRANCISTOWN:No one was injured when a Botswana Railways (BR) goods train carrying tonnes of diesel derailed early Tuesday morning near Take No Time rail crossing in Tonota.

Thirty-seven train carriages veered off the tracks at around one o'clock in the morning, confirmed Tonota Police spokesperson superintendent Lebang Pilot. The train locomotive remained upright.

No one was harmed, and the incident caused no impact to the road except for the rail line that was being maintained at the time of going to press.

The carriages were carrying diesel and the train driver and his companion escaped unharmed, Pilot said.
