Two members of Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) are being investigated by Old Naledi police after they were found in possession of voter registration cards.

The two members who are aged between 39 and 40 were taken in for questioning on Friday during voting time. This was confirmed by Old Naledi station commander, superintendent King Tshebo.  “The two men are helping us with investigations. Some of the cards had voted while others had not. I cannot disclose  how many were used and the ones that were not. IEC is the one which has more details on the matter and is best you talk to them,” Tshebo said.  He however refused to state, which party belong to but The Monitor managed to establish that they are BDP members.

On Friday, IEC spokesperson Osupile Maroba said it is not allowed that a person should have other people’s voter registration cards unless they have an agreement.
