The recent arrest of Sunday Standard editor, Outsa Mokone, is yet an example of how angry the President is with those he fundamentally differs with. Ever since he was recruited from the barracks to politics, Khama has always made it known he abhors the private media. His dislike of the private media, which partly emanates from his view that it is a tool of the opposition, is well documented. So loathsome of the private media is Khama that he said on numerous occasions that he does not read private newspapers.
Sources within the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) told Mmegi that his latest burst of fury and annoyance at the media was out in the open at a recent central committee. This was a day after Sunday Standard carried a story alleging he had been involved in a car accident.
