Talana Farm Eyes Lucrative SA Export Market

Talana Farm in the Tuli Block strives to expand and become Botswana's food basket and even break into the export market.

Speaking during a media tour last week, Talana Farm's General Manager, Jannie Willemse, said the farm is being operated by Botalana Ventures in partnership with Botswana Development Corporation (BDC) from which they have enjoyed massive support since they started operating and have been their partner since 2006.

Willemse said they sold 1,800 tonnes of vegetables in the Botswana market last year and aim to produce 16,000 tonnes for both the local market and for export, especially to South Africa.
