According to the bank, during her visit, Khan will give a review on global and pan-African economic developments and their implications for Botswana. Her wide audience will include corporate and retail customers of Standard Chartered Bank, as well as analysts and regulators.

It is said that she is no stranger to the Botswana market as she has made annual visits to give presentations covering in-depth analyses of global economies before.

Khan is one of Botswana's success stories on the international banking scene.
She started her career with Standard Chartered Botswana in 1997 on the Corporate Sales Desk responsible for global markets.

Shortly after, she joined the London Dealing Room, spearheading the development of Treasury Research in African Foreign Exchange and Money Markets.

Following the merger between the group's market and internal research functions, she was promoted to the post of Chief Economist, Africa, for Standard Chartered Bank.

Khan currently works in the African Regional Office, advising the executive committee on matters relating to Africa, as well as in

the Wholesale Bank, where she provides in-depth analysis on African economies to Standard Chartered's customers.

During her time with Standard Chartered, Khan has been acknowledged as a leading expert on African economies.

As well as advising key multinational corporations and funds with an African interest in Europe, the US and increasingly in Asia, she also travels to Africa on a regular basis, making presentations to customers and meeting with policymakers. Khan is frequently called on to provide analysis on African markets on the BBC, CNN, CNBC as well as the BBC World Service.

In recognition of Standard Chartered's extensive market knowledge of African economies, she also provides regular African updates to institutions such as the US Treasury, the New York Fed, the African Development Bank and a range of different African central banks.

Khan is a graduate of the London School of Economics, with a BSc Hons degree in Economics, and an MSc Econ. in Development, including specialisations in Monetary Economics and International Trade Law.
