Loadshedding: Interval or end of all?

In the weeks since the tapering out of winter, power supply has gradually improved countrywide, with few incidents of the dreaded loadshedding programme. Relieved authorities have a full summer workplan of procurement and repairs underway, but as Mmegi Staffer, MBONGENI MGUNI finds out, no one is willing to officially declare loadshedding deceased

And they can hardly be blamed. In the seven years since loadshedding first breached local shores, set up shop and began retailing despair to unsuspecting consumers, cynicism has grown over any purported ‘solution’.

A series of setbacks have diligently tracked every planned resolution to the power crisis over the years.
