Upcoming poets perform at The Village

A new poetry group, Art of Da Poets, made up of mostly young up and coming poets, held a poetry session at The Village Cinema last Friday. The session saw young poets, who are of school going age showcase their poetry and hip-hop skills.

One of the performers, Hazel recited a poem called I Learn To Live With A Black Person that says in part:


People used to love me
They used to bow down in front of me as if I was a queen
But that was before
I learnt to live with a black person
I am just a teen
Trying to find where my move of life leads
I try to find through poetry
