New signings shine as BMC beat Fighters

BMC survived an early scare after they came back from two goals down to win Saturday's friendly match against the Premiership returnees. Fighters started well and were duly rewarded with two early goals via Zambian striker Marko Kawimba and midfield grafter Patrick Dikalanyana.

The newly promoted side thought they had won the exhibition match after two quick goals, but Daniel 'Chicco' Nare's charges showed a lot of character to come back and inflict a 3-2 defeat.

The visiting Lobatse side got its first goal through former Gaborone United and Mochudi Centre Chiefs' hitman Sageby Sandaka.

The striker was making his debut for the club and opened his BMC account with a beautiful goal.

Keeagile Kobe and youth international forward Motsholetsi Sekele added further goals to give BMC victory.

While BMC fielded their new signings like Sandaka, Hillary Madzivanyika from Motlakase Power Dynamos and former Extension Gunners' midfielder Kemmy Pilato, Fighters' entire team was made up of players who won promotion last season. Pilato played the opening half before making way for Madzivanyika.

Fighters' coach, Joel Chonga said that they were in the process of bolstering their squad.  He believes four new signings will be enough to make the side more competitive. 'So far I can't say the team is good, we're still trying to put it together, but I feel we can get to the league and compete. I just need to get a defender, midfielder and two strikers,' he said.
