Big names in Nchindo's company

Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Phandu Skelemani, former Minister of Trade and Industry Neo Moroka, former Debswana Deputy managing director Mike Wittet, Bank of Botswana Governor Linah Mohohlo, former Permanent Secretary to the President (PSP) Molosiwa Selepeng, former permanent secretaries, Serwalo Tumelo, Kago Moshashane, and Tswelelo Moremi were all going to be on the board of directors for Nchindo's company.

Keothopile told the court that the Registrar of Companies received a letter in January 2001, from a certain Morupisi from Debswana requesting the Registrar of Companies to reserve the name for a company called Bok Bwai Vygie Pty Ltd.

Bok Bwai Vygie was to be changed to the Tourism Development Consortium (TDC), she said. She told court that the Registrar of Companies indeed reserved the company name for Debswana for the stipulated 30 days.

However, she said, Debswana never responded to their reservation and as such  it is not clear whether the directorship of the mentioned individuals ever materialized..

However, defence attorney Advocate Craig Webster told the court that in June 2001, Morupisi also authored a letter, directed to one Alice Mpuang at the Registrar of Companies in which he was requesting for a change of name to TDC as a separate entity. Government has taken TDC to court over charges of fraudulently acquiring a huge 70-hectare plot in Gaborone.
