New UB admission system sparks congestion

The University of Botswana (UB) decision to admit new students on a first come first served basis has caused congestion at the institution.

After learning that besides qualifying for a programme of study, one also needs to arrive first and fill the application forms, hundreds of students rushed to the university yesterday.

Some of the students who spoke to Mmegi said they came as early as 2am whilst others said they came in the middle of the night.
