Rollers to decide on Santos' ruling

Township Rollers are yet to make a decision on the Premier League Disciplinary Committee's (DC) ruling in their dispute with Uniao Flamengo Santos over two players, Mogakolodi Ngele and Thato Bolweleng.

"We are currently studying the judgment and will soon make a decision as to whether we will appeal the ruling," Rollers' secretary, Khumo Masonya told Mmegi Sport yesterday. The DC has ordered Rollers to pay P5,000 for each player and docked the club 12 points. In addition, the committee banned Rollers from recruiting players. However, the points' decision and the ban on player recruitment have been wholly suspended for two years. Rollers landed in trouble after accusations that it tried to lure the two players from Santos unprocedurally. Rollers allegedly locked the two players at a lodge in Mogoditshane and prevented from turning out for Santos in the game against Mochudi Centre Chiefs. Rollers officers have said they thought the players had terminated their contracts at Santos when they tried to recruit them. After reports of the 'locking' incident, the players were suspended by Santos and have not been in action since the start of the season. The suspension has also locked them out of the national Under-23 side, which beat Namibia 1-0 in the 2012 Olympic qualifiers last Saturday.

Meanwhile, Santos' official, Victor Sebolao feels that the ruling is too lenient. He said there should not have been a suspended sentence in order to set precedence. He said the Rollers officials involved in the recruitment of the players should have at least been suspended. Like Rollers, Sebolao said they have not met to make a decision on the ruling. "We have 10 days to think about it," he said.

Congratulations Anicia Gaothuse!

The contest had 10 beautiful young girls as finalists and unfortunately only one could wear the crown. The judges picked Anicia Gaothuse. To all those who feel their contestant should have won ahead of Anicia for whatever reason, hardly; the judges found Anicia to be the best among the best, so desist from disrespecting our newly crowned queen on social media or anywhere else, for that matter! Each of the 10 beautiful young women had supporters...
