BOMU elections postponed

Botswana Musicians' Union (BOMU) has postponed its executive committee elections.

In an interview, former BOMU secretary general , Winfred Rasina,  said the elections, which were scheduled for last week Thursday, were deferred to give former members of the two consecutive executive committees time to amend the organisation's constitution.
He said that the issue was raised at the Thursday meet where it was felt that the constitution had some loopholes, which were open to manipulation.

Amendments have to be made to avoid a repeat of the current situation where a group of members went to the Registrar of Companies and complained that proper procedures were not followed when the outgoing committee led by Nkgopolang Tlhomelang was chosen.
