Tears of joy as police officer is acquitted discharged of rape

Police officer Joshua Ntau shed tears of joy on Friday after Principal Magistrate Taboka Slave acquitted and discharged him of a single count of rape.

Ntau was accused of raping a junior officer at the Serious Crime Squad offices in Gaborone in August 2009.

Slave said that the complainant was inconsistent in her testimony hence the prosecution could not rely on her to secure a conviction.
