No more livestock in Moshupa

Kgosi Oscar Mosielele said yesterday that after consultation with all wards in the village, it emerged that residents wanted livestock out of the village because they cause conflicts. He said he consulted with the residents and a Kgotla meeting was called where a compromise was reached between farmers and non-farmers that livestock should be relocated.
He said that goats, cows and donkeys are causing havoc in the village because they enter people's compounds and destroy anything they find inside. "Even the volume of the cases involving livestock that we handled in our court proved that something needed to be done. Already half of farmers have relocated their livestock to the lands so far and the agreement is that no animal should get inside the village," he explained. He said chicken owners have been advised to build chicken enclosures (dihoko).
