Nata-Gweta MP Raynor has buckled the trend in Parliament by opposing rising calls by legislators for sweeping constitutional reforms.

He asserted that a constitutional review is expensive and unnecessary. Calls for a review have increased after the High Court and Court of Appeal ruled recently that according to the constitution, the President of the country cannot be sued.
However, Makosha said there is no need for a review and people who feel wronged by the President should wait for him to step down or complete his term before instituting any legal action against him. He stated that there are many things that need attention, especially in his constituency where there is poor infrastructure. He said that at the moment, his constituents are eagerly waiting for the construction of sub- district offices and therefore limited government resources should be used for development and not for constitutional review. He prefers the review to be done peace-meal to avoid costs because the country is experiencing economic slowdown.
Meanwhile, the MP for Chobe, Gibson Nshimwe told Parliament that his constituency is in urgent need of a senior secondary school and a hospital. He said students in Chobe have to travel for over 500 kilometers, to the nearest senior secondary school, while patients have to travel to Francistown - 500km away - for better medical services. This is financially taxing to his people most of whom are unemployed. He added that the Kasane hospital is in a bad state and patients queue from 7am to 6pm to get service. He called on government to build a new hospital on the plot that has been reserved for the purpose since the 1980s during National Development Plan 8.
Nshimwe lamented the poor state of drinking water in his constituency though it has three major rivers. He pleaded with government to avail water and electricity to Chobe residents if it wants to attract investors to the area. He lamented the poor road infrastructure linking the constituency to the rest of the country.
