Govt snubs mediation

The much anticipated mediation meeting between the Botswana Federation of Public Sector Union (BOFEPUSU) and the Directorate of Public service Management (DPSM) failed to materialise yesterday when the employer party failed to turn up.

The independent mediation, called Commissioner of Labour, was to discuss the deadlock in the 2013/14 salary negotiations.

BOFEPUSU deputy secretary general Ketlhalefile Motshegwa told Mmegi that the union was still in shock over the DPSM failure to pitch for the meeting, or even advance reasons.
