Trouble is brewing at BTC Premiership side, Notwane as the club meets tomorrow on the back of a poor start to the season, with supporters baying for chairperson, Phillip Tiroyamodimo’s head.

Toronto are having a miserable season as they sit at the bottom of the league standings without a point. The sleeping giants are winless and on minus six points after being charged for violating Club Licencing regulations.

The troubles at Sechaba are spilling out of the field, as a section of supporters want Tiroyamodimo out. Tiroyamodimo, who retained his position in June has been under fire for the club’s activity in the transfer window.

The enraged supporters are planning to use the Saturday meeting to oust the chairperson.

“The club membership feels that the executive committee has not done well to prepare for the season. Some supporters feel that on Saturday at the meeting the chairperson should resign from his position because he has been at the helm during troubling times, but has not done much to turn around the situation,” an insider said.

“The club has lost a couple of good players and the coach (Dragojlo Stanolovic), so some supporters feel the club under Tiroyamodimo will keep on going down and we should not be surprised when there is a vote of no confidence at the meeting.”

The club’s public relations officer, Mogomotsi ‘Ace’ Orapeleng said the weekend’s meeting is to update the supporters on the status of the club.  He said they are not aware any attempts

to oust the current club leadership.

“We are not aware of such reports. Notwane is a society; it’s run by the society and led by the executive committee. So it’s not a one-man show, that’s why we have called supporters, to give them an update about the team. We are guided by the club constitution. It helps us in following our roadmap on how we should run the club,” he said.

After the meeting, Sechaba take on city rivals, Gaborone United in a BTC Premiership tie. The Reds are unbeaten this season as they sit on the fifth spot. The team has won twice and played to draws three games.

The Reds have scored seven goals while conceding just three; the best defensive record in the league.

In other games, second-placed Jwaneng Galaxy welcome BR Highlanders at Galaxy Stadium while Molepolole City Stars host Orapa United at the Molepolole Sports Complex tonight.

Tomorrow afternoon, leaders Security Systems will look to maintain their perfect start to the season against unbeaten Prisons XI at the Molepolole Sports Complex while holders, Township Rollers welcome Gilport Lions at the Royal Aria Stadium.

Struggling giants, Extension Gunners will look for redemption in an away fixture against Morupule Wanderers at the Selebi-Phikwe Stadium as TAFIC face BDF XI at the Francistown Sports Complex.
