Tlokweng police arrest murder suspect

CAVIN KANOKO
Tlokweng police launched an investigation into a case in which a man is alleged to have stabbed a woman to death on Monday.

Due to the nature of the incident Tlokweng police station commander, Unoziba Rari said they are not certain what may have led to the murder.

“A passerby alerted us of a woman who was found laying on the ground,” Rari said.

He added that the woman was run over with a car after she was stabbed, saying they found the suspect’s car, which they believe was dumped after fleeing the scene of the crime.

Rari said they are still investigating the age

of both the victim and the suspect, who was caught in Mmopane yesterday morning.

“We are still investigating to confirm that the person we have in custody is indeed the perpetrator,” Rari said. He said they would only reveal the identity of the suspect after confirming that he is indeed the perpetrator.

An undisclosed source said the deceased was a married woman whose husband currently resides in South Africa.  The woman was allegedly killed near Travellers Funeral Services.
