Unik Attraction resurfaces at the Legends

As Botswana Craft Marketing prepares for the return of the Legends in Concert music show featuring South African artists, Mdu Masilela and Nathi Mankayi, the event will mark the rebound of Batswana’s female local group, Unik Attraction.

Tickets for the show are already flying off the shelves with local fans eager to see the return of the once powerful music group, Unik Attraction. The group had taken a long leave from music following allegations of a conflict its then producer Mr Tagg.

Information reaching Arts and Culture suggests that members of the group who made solo careers are now back together in studio after an almost 20-year absence on the local music scene. They plan to use this opportunity presented by the gig to earn back some of their lost fans. The line up for the much anticipated music festival was announced in June with the show set for August 2, but organisers say tickets sales are moving fast.

Apart from Mdu, Nathi Unik Attraction, the show will feature local artist DJ Boogie Sid. This will be the second feature of the Legends in Concert. It comes after a successful one held at Molapo Stanbic Piazza on May 29 that showcased Malaika, Arthur Mafokate and Mapetla.

The show organiser and music promoter Lecco Kenosi of

Leccotainment Music revealed that they have seen an overwhelming demand for tickets since releasing the line up.

“The response has been overwhelming with people calling in to ask where they could purchase the tickets. It is good that the patrons want to buy the tickets very early to avoid any last minute rush and disappointments. They are flying,” said Kenosi.

“If you don’t have ticket now, make sure u get it now at BotswanaCraft Marketing, Molapo Mall, Kgale Mall, Riverwalk Mall and Southring mall Liquoramas. It’s going to be a sold out show,” he said.

Kenosi also explained that they went for the  BotswanaCraft Marketing venue because it suits jazz and live band performance.

“I use both Molapo Stanbic Piazza and BotswanaCraft Marketing but I wanted a close up show because Nathi is playing live. Both venues are good for our clients (in terms of) security wise and everything,” he added

The show will mark Kwaito legend, Mdu’s return to Botswana after a number of years without performing at local venues. Tickets for the show sell at P300.
