Turkey cosies up to Botswana

The Turkish Ambassador to Botswana, Meltem Buyukkarakas says she hopes the new Parliament considers establishing a membership group with Turkey in which it will serve as a platform to exchange ideas between the countries.

Speaking during today’s courtesy call on the Speaker of the National Assembly, Gladys Kokorwe’s office, Buyukkarakas indicated that it has been five months since she took up her duties and she felt privileged to serve in a country that is so peaceful, friendly, and has a welcoming atmosphere. 

Buyukkarakas highlighted that the Turkish Embassy opened in 2014 and of which is a clear indication that the Turkish government is willing and wants to strengthen and increase cooperation between the two countries.
