The Botswana Football Association (BFA) has said it had put forward, top referee, Joshua Bondo’s name for nomination for the Botswana National Sport Awards.

Bondo was surprisingly overlooked for the umpire/referee of the year award despite an outstanding year, with reports that BFA had failed to submit his name to the awards committee.

Township Rollers was also regarded as deserving of a nomination after a year in which they won the Mascom Top 8, the BTC Premiership league title and made history by becoming the first Botswana team to reach the group stages of the CAF Champions League.BFA chief executive officer, Mfolo Mfolo said they had submitted Bondo’s name for consideration.
