Award-winning pageant more than pretty faces

After being awarded the best organisation in youth development at the Botswana Youth Awards on May 4, 2019, Miss Independence Kgatleng Pageant organisers have never been more proud.

“It was about time we get it. The pageant, in its fifth-year running,  is not all about pretty faces but also empowering the youth through life skills training and the mainstream of culture through bootcamps, which are held a month before the event,” event founder and coordinator, Lebopo Bulayani said in an interview. 

She said this award means a lot to them because they do a lot of work not only for the youth, but also give back to the community in general.
