Rapists rampant in Mahalapye - Police

Police in Mahalapye are concerned at the alarming rate of rape cases in the village and its surrounding areas. Last week alone they registered five rape cases.

Two suspects have been arrested while four perpetrators are on the loose. Superintendent Morris Kwena said rape has become a serious concern and women need to be cautious of the situation.

“We registered five rape cases last week alone in Mahalapye, Shoshong, Machaneng and Martin’s Drift. There has been a huge rise in rape incidents in this area. We encourage women to avoid walking alone especially at night,” he said.
