Maitisong Festival 2019 puts locals first

For years, the festival had been placing most of its focus on exhibiting international talent, but the festival director Tefo Paya and team have decided to develop a creative hub through the festival that has given birth to a number of productions and companies.
“For this year’s festival, we will look at nurturing our growing creative arts industry and playing our part and help it fulfil its potential. Our focus is on supporting young local artists through the festival by providing them with a platform to showcase their talents and abilities,” Paya said in an interview.
The contest had 10 beautiful young girls as finalists and unfortunately only one could wear the crown.The judges picked Anicia Gaothuse. To all those who feel their contestant should have won ahead of Anicia for whatever reason, hardly; the judges found Anicia to be the best among the best, so desist from disrespecting our newly crowned queen on social media or anywhere else, for that matter!
