Venson-Moitoi interdicts BDP presidential election

Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) presidential hopeful Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi is seeking to interdict the ruling party from holding the highly anticipated presidential election scheduled for Friday April 5 in Kang.

Venson-Moitoi, who is a former Cabinet minister and Serowe South MP, has filed an urgent court application at the Lobatse High Court. 

Yesterday, the party disqualified 26 delegates who had sponsored Venson-Moitoi’s candidacy in the presidential contest against President Mokgweetsi Masisi.
