InnoLead Expands To Zambia, Targets Rwanda & Uganda

InnoLead, a Botswana-based consulting firm, is making waves in the regional market after successfully opening a branch in Lusaka, Zambia last month.

The company, which has been operating in Botswana for 17 years, offers services in areas of strategy, project management, performance management and training.

InnoLead’s managing director, Oabona Kgengwenyane said the firm decided to expand and diversify their market after realising that they have outgrown the local one.

“The local market is relatively small in terms of the market size hence the reason why we decided to explore other regional markets through the assistance of the Botswana Investment and Trade Centre,” Kgengwenyane explained.

He said they conducted their due diligence in their potential markets including Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

They then chose Zambia as their first expansion destination due to the country’s economic stability. The Lusaka operations, which were opened in February, is headed by a Motswana.Kgengwenyane added that the decision to open shop in Zambia came through the recognised fact that Botswana is not the only African country that could benefit from Best Practice Project Management.

quest to diversify their economy from the dependency on copper mining, had identified a number of economic strategic goals that can be achieved through a number of projects.

“It is paramount that the project management engaged for these projects sets them up for success. The success of the projects as identified through the national budget as well as the seventh national development plan can be the difference between a stronger economy and an economy that remains as is,” he said.

Further the group continues with their regional expansion programme with their eyes set on Rwanda and Uganda next adding that their aim is to develop an African brand that provides professional services.

“It is time that African countries look to other African countries for specialty skills and knowledge. We know our challenges best and can work to upgrade each other in the quest for Africa’s financial independence. It’s possible, we only have to try,” he said.
