'Women Still Abuse Victims'

The assistant minister of Local Government And Rural Development, Botlogile Tshireletso has said the International Women’s Day is an opportunity to affirm women as integral part of every society and recognise the achievements made in uplifting the status of women.

Speaking during the commemoration of the International Women’s Day organised by the Chinese Embassy in Gaborone Friday, Tshireletso stated that even up to today, women still fall victim ofo abuse and worse, being murdered at the slightest provocation.

She said they still face dangerous and humiliating situations mostly in rural areas, hence such acts can not be allowed to continue un-abated.
