BMD VP, members quit to join UDC

Even as their party fights in court where it is challenging its axing from the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC), some members of the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) are dumping the party to join the coalition as individuals.

According to sources, BMD vice president Tlamelo Mmatli, is set to represent the UDC in Molepolole South. He is said to have applied to the Umbrella as an individual member and  been admitted.

“I have been a UDC member and even at Parliament our sitting arrangement did not change. I was voted in 2014 under UDC ticket. I am still a BMD,” Mmatli said when contacted for comment.
