The 26-year-old young wowan is a director for Little Miss Princess World, an international beauty pageant that brings young girls to battle with other winners from all over the globe. In an interview with Arts & Culture, Lebanna said she prides herself in grooming children and paving their way towards the pageantry industry.

“This can help them achieve their dreams in winning both local and international titles of their choice whereas bringing positive change in the lives of their communities,” she said proudly.  The former director of Little Miss Universe, which was held in 2015 at Georgia, United States said she was crowned a director of the Universe, and still being the director who had brought the best delegate representing Botswana and Africa. The former Mascom Wireless Call Centre agent is also an international pageantry judge and has previously scooped “Star of the World” award in 2016.

The award was given to an individual who had worked hard to produce the best delegates for the international competition.

In December 2017, she was nominated in Africa Youth Awards under the category of “Best Youth of the Year” as the only representative from Botswana nominated in the top six.  However, she pointed out that before the award, in June 2017, she was nominated to two categories namely the Best Youth Promoting Culture and Heritage and the Best Youth in Performing Arts.

The two awards categories had therefore proved that her sweat and hardworking was paying

off. She explained that she was also inspired to do beauty pageants for children after studying the international market.

That was where she noticed that countries like Philippines, Venezuela, Colombia and India always dominated the bigger pageants such as Miss World and Miss Universe. She said that was because they start pageantry at a young age. However, she pointed out that in Botswana, the contestants start pageantry at an older age which makes it hard to compete with the contestants from the said countries. She said her pageants therefore fill that gap.

“By the time these children become old, they will be having more experience, exposure as well as having a competitive advantage amongst other countries,” she said.

Lebanna added that her biggest dream was to become a United Nations Ambassador adding that she strongly believes that she could achieve that through hardwork and determination.  The selflessness of Martin Luther King, the hardwork and ambitiousness of Tebogo Lebotse-Sebego and the humility of Mehmet Ghandi inspire her.

She further explained that she is her own pillar of strength. Lebanna said she had been through many challenges, but that didn’t demoralise her as she worked hard and grew everyday.

Lebanna is motivated by what she has achieved so far which helps her to keep on working harder. She added that her faith in God has also kept her going. Lebanna holds a Diploma in Accounting and BA (Hons) Business Enterprise from Botswana Accountancy College.
