Venson-Moitoi to challenge Masisi

Local Government and Rural Development minister Pelonomi Venson-Moitoi has confirmed her intention to contest against the ruling Botswana Democratic Party president Mokgweetsi Masisi.

“Yesterday I informed, in writing to the BDP and HE the President, that I intend to contest the position of President of BDP at the next elective congress,” wrote the minister on her Facebook page.

 “I believe that in true democratic fashion my campaign will be one that debates issues constructively. Always putting the Party first and the lives of all Batswana at the very core of our debates,” Venson-Moitoi, who is also the MP for Serowe South.
