Four Rape Cases In Two Days

Rape cases continue to be a nightmare for the police, especially in Mogoditshane where it appears to be a rape ‘ticking time bomb’ with the police recording three to four cases every weekend.

Police have identified most of the cases as date rape with perpetrators often being casual friends, who would have met the victims at entertainment places. 

Officer Commanding (OC) senior superintendent Counsel Moyo told The Monitor that investigations is such cases give the police a headache as the perpetrators would claim to have had consent from the alleged victims, who later turn around and accuse the aggrieved of extortion.
