Botswana loses 11 players in 18 months

Botswana has lost eleven players in the last 18 months, with road accidents claiming half of the lives lost. In April 2017, Township Rollers attacking midfielder, Gofaone ‘Sbhida’ Tiro collapsed and died during training.

Tiro was an established member at Rollers, and his death shook the football family, with concerns over the welfare of the players at most teams.

A month later, local football was once again, mourning the death of another player, as Mahalapye’s Santa Green player, Leatile ‘Satter’ Setabosigo also collapsed and died at training.
