Former president Ian Khama has responded to theories that the root cause of the impasse between him and his successor President Mokgweetsi Masisi is mainly caused by the 'breach of agreement' by the incumbent.

Many commentators have posited that the two men had a private gentlemen’s agreement before the former stepped down.

Analysts are saying that Masisi has possibly betrayed his predecessor, hence the rift.
