Expelled member of the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC), the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) on Saturday held their first rally since expulsion.

While one would have thought the rally would have many party members coming to hear from their leaders on the way forward, the gathering was a flop with just over 100 attendants. It was promoted using the UDC name and the speakers kept referring to it as a coalition event.

The rally, which started two hours later than the stated 2pm, was characterised by speakers vowing that they would not allow the Botswana Congress Party (BCP) to push them out of the party they built.
