Constitutionally, President Mokgweetsi Masisi will on Monday make his first State of the Nation Address (SONA).

Masisi ascended the presidency after former President Ian Khama vacated the highest office on April 1, 2018. 

For the first time the proceedings of SONA will done by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Kagiso Molatlhegi since the Speaker of the National Assembly Gladys Kokorwe is not well. The President is expected to deliver his address around 13:30 hours.
