LEATHER PARK A REALITY FOR LOBATSE

A colonial capital town that has seen most of its flagship landmarks relocate to the neighbouring post-independence city of Gaborone, Lobatse could soon exhale a sigh of relief if the envisioned leather park comes to reality.

The Local Enterprise Authority (LEA) has indicated that the feasibility study for leather the park project in Lobatse will be completed during the course of the next financial year starting in April 2014. Last week, LEA Communications Director, Nyaladzi Kutjwe told The Monitor that they have embarked on the necessary groundwork required to engage independent consultants to validate the feasibility of the establishment of the Leather park project.

“It is anticipated that the feasibility validation exercise will be completed during the course of the next financial year thereafter the implementation milestone will be finalised”, said Kutjwe.
