BUAN closes indefinitely

After due consultation with Senate and the Minister of Agricultural Development and Food Security, the council of the Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (BUAN) resolved to close the institution indefinitely.

This was after the BUAN Council at its special meeting on October 8, 2018, considered a report and recommendation from management with regard to student class boycott, which started on October 3, 2018.

“Council duly considered the student conduct over the period of class boycott and determined that the students’ behaviour poses a danger to staff, other students and university assets,” a statement from the university reads.
