No progress in PSBC constitution drafting - Rari

There is no progress in the crafting of the Public Service Bargaining Council (PSBC) constitution, save for the formation of task committee to look into the process. The Botswana Federation of Public Private Parastatals Sector Unions (BOFEPUSU) secretary general Tabokani Rari made the revelation.

He pointed out that the lack of progress was due to the fact that the process had just started. Early last month, the government through the Directorate of Public Service Management (DPSM) urged both the government and all Public Service Unions to agree on a new constitution.  Both parties were urged and agreed to constitute a task team that would look into the crafting of the new constitution.

In a letter dated August 3, 2018 the then acting director of DPSM Molefi Keaja, indicated that the government wished to see the PSBC up and running by the end of this month as requested by both parties earlier. Both parties were asked to review and agree on the new drafted Constitution.
