Police charge BNF councillor for unlawful wounding

Jwaneng Police have confirmed that a Botswana National Front (BNF) councillor for Jwaneng Unit V Ronicah Ntsimake and a party activist are facing a single count of unlawful wounding following an incident, which happened in Khakhea ward over the weekend.

“It is true we have charged two men with unlawful wounding and they will appear before (the Jwaneng) Magistrate’s Court when investigations are over. Investigations on the matter are ongoing. We were told there were differences, which led to arguments and then fights. We are aware of one person who was stabbed with a sharp object on the hand,” Mabutsane Police Station Commander, Superintendent Keitshokile Kebodiretswe said.

He said there was no damage to property during the incident.
