BNF councillors lose Gaborone Bonnington South bid

Two Botswana National Front (BNF) incumbent Gaborone Bonnington South councillors lost their bid in the party’s primary elections over the weekend.

Marulamantsi councillor Sergeant Kgosietsile lost to Moitlamo Raphane while councillor Bisto Montwedi for Morula ward lost to Frankie Giddie.

At Marulamantsi ward Kgosietsile got 41 votes while Raphane got 152. Montwedi got 92 votes while Giddie got 120 votes. Still in that constituency, deputy mayor Kagiso Tshekega of Mosekangwetsi ward was fortunate as his challenger, Shathani Mugwana, withdrew his candidacy two days before elections therefore retaining his ward.  The BNF held its primaries in the three wards.
