Kebonang Loses Matsheka

The Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) primary election in Lobatse attracted many voters, where the incumbent Sadique Kebonang lost his parliamentary seat to Thapelo Matsheka.

This was evident as over 4,000 young and old party members came to cast their votes at the constituency.

The election for the BDP parliamentary candidate was contested by Matsheka who garnered 1,376 votes, the incumbent Lobatse legislator Kebonang with 1,073 votes, Kamal Jacobs with 1,219 votes, Lone Bome who got 66 votes, Patrick Kebailele with 218 and Ahmed Shabeer Ishmail with 317 votes cast.
