How Mabaila landed in hot soup

All has not been well since Tshepang Mabaila won the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) primary elections in January this year. Mabaila who was considered powerful during former president Ian Khama’s administration had been facing resistance from some BDP members in his constituency, as they believed he was favoured during primary elections.

Some contestants believed that all his supporters’ membership cards were easily processed at the party headquarters while they struggled to have theirs done.

Moreover, the youthful former army man had support from party leadership, more so that he was using his Mabaila Foundation to campaign.
