Master Zein reign supreme in fierce best DJ contest

In a fierce battle to crown the country’s best ultimixer, Master Zein emerged as the winner of the President’s Day celebrations Best Disc Jockey (DJ) category recently.

The stage was set at Tsholofelo Park where a sizeable number of spectators turned out to witness eight DJs battling it out for the P10, 000 prize money. It was 20-year-old, Rewaldo Zen Fortuin popularly known by stage name, Master Zein who was crowned the winner of the competition.

The DJ’s were each given seven minutes to show case their skills on the one’s and two’s. They were judged on several items including, understanding of the equipment, controlling levels and the technique of applying and mixing effects amongst others. All the contestants stuck to the commercial genre of house music in effort to move the spectators attending the show.

To all those who feel their contestant should have won ahead of Anicia for whatever reason, hardly; the judges found Anicia to be the best among the best, so desist from disrespecting our newly crowned queen on social media or anywhere else, for that matter!
