Political analyst, Leonard Sesa says the outcome of Moshupa/Manyana constituency by-election has confirmed that there is need for Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) to go back to the drawing board.

He said UDC leadership cannot keep on ignoring what the masses or party members are saying because the poor outcome reflects on them. Some affiliates of UDC, especially members of Botswana National Front (BNF) and Botswana Congress Party (BCP) at Moshupa/Manyana had vowed that they would not cast vote for the coalition despite their leadership efforts in trying to convince them to support Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) candidate, Jonathan Sethono. Their contention was that the BMD does not have presence within Moshupa/Manyana constituency. “UDC leadership is in denial. It is time they tell people the truth of what is happening. Why can’t they tell people or members the status of the parties so that some problems may be ironed out?

If it goes on like this, people will lose hope on it and opt to vote for Alliance for Progressives (AP).
