Learner appraisal system piloted

The Ministry of Basic Education through the Department of Special Support Services is piloting the Botswana Learner Appraisal System (BLAS) a series of psychometric tests for learners in 12 schools in the South East region.

The 12 targeted schools comprise of one senior secondary school, three junior schools and eight primary schools. 

The ministry says that the psychometric tests are going to be used to identify barriers to academic performance by learners as well as challenges to individual learner’s wellbeing.
