BPP lifts Gudu, Kuchwe suspensions :: Mmegi Online

FRANCISTOWN: Botswana People's Party (BPP) has lifted suspensions imposed on its chairperson Richard Gudu and additional member Peter Kuchwe Mmegi has established.

The party secretary general Venter Galetshabiwe confirmed the development to Mmegi. This comes amid allegations late last week that Gudu has joined the ruling party, something he moved quickly to dismiss.

“We recently met as the party national executive committee (NEC) and we decided that it will be prudent for us to lift the suspensions of the two men. We made the recommendations to the party central committee and it decided in our favour,” Galetshabiwe said, adding that Kuchwe and Gudu went for a hearing and the NEC findings “were that they were wrong but suspending them was not an ideal thing to do. It would have created instability within the party”.
